Look up! In the sky!! So much action. My afternoon was spent watching all the crazy photos happening in other other parts of the world where it was night time, including from places that almost never get to see aurora. Also watching the clear skies here start to get just a hint of cloud, and the forecast lots of cloud. Sun goes down, and before the sky is even slightly dark actual aurora start to show. Aurora Australis here in the Southern Hemisphere, versus the Northern Lights folks in the North were getting, but so much going on.
I only caught one hour of photos between dusk and cloud cover, but it was still pretty darn amazing. I’m excited for my friends so excited at catching something just about visible to their eyes revealed in crazy vibrant colours on their basic cellphones. Take more photos those friends, it’s a great hobby.
This is looking south from Featherston, over Lake Wairarapa New Zealand. More delightful photos all over everywhere.
The Timelapse is over on youtube, WordPress won’t let me share a six second mp4 here.
